Curtis “KY” Sherrer
Biography
Hailing from the Long Island streets of Amityville, New York, Curtis
Sherrer a.k.a. KY is America’s new face. This rising young star is
focused on his goals and is on his way to the top, continuing the long
legacy of accomplished artist and stars who has emerged from Long
Island. With ambition and a strong drive for success, KY is a force to
be reckoned with.
Inspired by such greats as Russell Simmons, Spike Lee, Denzel
Washington, Notorious BIG, Will Smith and His Mother, just to name a
few, KY keeps his focus and uses them as a motivational source in his
life. Whether he is Humiliating his opponent in a rap battle, or giving
the camera his all while hosting a show, one listen or look at KY will
instantly intrigue you. “This is what I do, and I make sure I give
100% continuously,” says KY.
KY grew up around the whole Long Island early 90’s Hip-Hop movement.
His source of inspiration was people like Rakim, De La Soul, Tribe
Called Quest, Queen Latifah and LL Cool J. “I seen success so much,
that I had no choice but to want it,” says KY. Long Island has a long
list of successful actors and artists. KY is on his way to being the
newest addition to that list. “If you see something so much, you are
going to want it.”
Presently at the age of 26, KY has made major moves to add to his
resume. He has grown into an equally major presence in the entertainment
community, both in creativity and business alike. His long roster of
appearances and accomplishments include; 10 year training at Bunny
Madden’s Dance School, three week champion of BET’s Freestyle
Fridays, BET’s New Faces top ten finalist, D3 DVD Magazine host, “We
Got Next” BET host, “Chit Chat” pilot show host with Hot 97’s
Miss Info & other celebrities. KY has also hosted various events around
New York for many entertainment groups. He has recently released his new
Album titled, “31st Day”, and continues to write and produce songs
for various artists. He has interviewed many celebrities, such as, LL
Cool J, Fabulous, Papoose, Long Island native Mike James of the
Milwaukee Bucks, Kelly Rowland of Destiny’s Child, Keyshia Cole, Just
Blaze, and many others with moreto come. He is Co-owner of his own
entertainment group, East & Pine, and is associated with many groups,
people and places such as Mbition Entertainment, Dawn Cee of D3 DVD
Magazine, Maximum Grafx Design, Triple A Music Group, and Atkins
Studios. He has delivered lyrically, powerful performances at places
such as the Salisbury Arena in Salisbury Delaware, Philly’s Greek Fest
in Philadelphia Pennsylvania, and various venues around New York.
KY aims to continue and further his career by pursuing Acting, Modeling,
Hosting Television and Radio and taking his music and involvement in
Hip-Hop to the next level. “My greatest accomplishment is raising my
son, and I am study working hard on my future endeavors.” KY is a free
spirit that appreciates life, his family and friends and uses them as
inspiration to succeed. “It doesn’t matter if you hate me or love
me, because all that means is that you know me, and if you know me then
