Has Long Island ever seen an independent record label whose primary focus is representing its hood to the fullest? Probably not until now. Enter Distant World Records, the up-and-coming label built on the Island, based on the Island and boasting the Island like never before. Gene Kennedy and K Swift serve as CEOs, while DJ's 495 and Cyclone are the men behind the music of this budding enterprise. These young, ambitious men are guaranteed to take the industry by storm with their impressive roster of hot, new talent. Tired of their borough getting no love, Kennedy and Swift are determined to make an indelible name for Long Island. "Everyone would always ask us where we're from and when we would tell them, they'd be like, 'All the way from out there? Kennedy says. So we came up with the Distant World, because Suffolk County is considered to be so 'distant' from the five boroughs. Modeling themselves after such labels as Roc-a-Fella Records, Disturbing the Peace and No Limit, Distant World's goal is take care of its family and precisely foster each members image."We want to put Long Island on the map. We want L.I. to be synonymous with Distant World, just like Snoop Dogg is to Long Beach," says Gene Kennedy. Swift agrees, "Distant World is hungry and we want to make our mark. We want to find our niche and take Long Island by storm. Look at what Nelly did for St. Louis. That's exactly what we want to do." And with these two brilliant men behind Distant World, theres no telling what the label will be able to do. Rappers Redrum, 19; K-Swift, 26; Goodson, 20; and Joey Battz, 25; are the lyrical geniuses of the Distant World family, Frankie Bells is the sole artist who comprises the Distant Soul Division, while DJ 495, 21; is the powerhouse DJ responsible for getting the label heard in clubs and hosting their upcoming events. Each rapper brings its own unique style to the label. Take Joey Battz, for example. This German, and Puerto Rican lyricist has one of the most distinctive voices to come along in a while. His uncanny ability to switch his voice from Battz to his alter ego Javar Ethnic will certainly entertain just about any listener. Battz has recently completed his first offering to the world called "Battz Begins", which is in stores now. And dont be fooled by Redrums smooth delivery, because he spits fire through his classic punch lines and crisp delivery. As the nephew of mega-producer and songwriter Corey Rooney (Destinys Child, Jennifer Lopez, Mark Anthony), Redrums versatility allows him to make songs for the ladies as well as for the streets. Theres absolutely no question that he brings an unforgettable flow to Distant World. Pick up his debut release of off Distant World Records "Death Before Dishonor - The Loyalty Brings Royalties Mixtape". K-Swift is on the verge of taking the rap industry by storm. The first artist to release a record of off of the burgeoning Long Island based record company, Distant World Records, K-Swift is destined to be the next great thing. His style is not to be confused with anyone's and has been referred to as the thinking mans mc. A real rappers, rapper. Goodson , (K Swifts younger brother) and Yahigness, both hailing from Deer Park, Long Island are the newest additions to Distant World Records. Be on the lookouth for GS' debut album 83 which is destined to turn L.I. on its head. Yahigness is prepping her yet untilted mixtape and is ready to prove to the world that pretty ladies spit flames as well. No bubble gum nonsense here. We'd like to introduce you to the hottest new creator of animated entertainment. Were not only making you laugh, but we are going to raise some political and social issues. In a generation where cartoons do not just air after school and Saturday mornings, cartoons are being manipulated along with our realism more than ever before. Sodamovies has emerged to get everyone's attention. The creator of sodamovies was eager to get some of his ideas out. He found himself tired of doing the same old thing for the same money and putting all of his creativity on the back burner. He was interested in flipping the quality of animated entertainment around. And with his first installment of 730: he has done just that. "I found myself constantly sharing some of my best stories with co-workers and friends in the neighborhood...I want to put some of my ideas on blast!" He said. So he came up with his own unique style of animation that is rude, raw and marketable. Everyone is looking for more money. Even people with money want more money! There is a competition between the talented vs. the non-talented and it is displayed on our televisions everyday. Much of today's "reality" TV is not based on talent. In a society where much of our entertainment comes from non-talent, artists are struggling to display themselves. Sodamovies is surfacing on the streets, on your laptop, in your ears and on your television screens. We've captured a different side of animated entertainment.

D.Y.M.E.$ M.C. _______________________________________________________ D.Y.M.E.S Stands for Dedicated, Young, Motivated, Extraordinary, Sistas.
We are an all woman's Motorcycle club located in Amityville, Long
Island, NY. Currently D.Y.M.E.S. has A dollar worth of members but
expanding slowly. D.Y.M.E.S. is a sports bike club. Our members own
Kawasaki's, Hondas, Suzuki's, etc. We decided in April 2006 we
wanted to ride and during our motorcycle lessons at Tramas we decided to
start a club. We officially started the club August of 2006.
We have gotten a lot of support for all neighborhood MC's especially
during our annual calendar. As for the community we've volunteered for a
Pre-school doing a car wash. as well as did our own toy drive and
donated all our toys to Keep the Peace Foundation, We have participated
in Charity walks such as The LUPUS walk , the Asthma Walk & the MS Walk.
We enjoy community service. We have recently started DYMES TOO which is
our Jr. Club and through this club we plan to mentor young women, it's
hard to believe so much time as passed but we are all proud of our
accomplishments thus far.
Some details on the ladies of D.Y.M.E.S. Water is our President. She has
been riding the longest out of everyone like a month longer. My Badd is
the Vice President and was one of the attendees of Tramas motorcycle
school where her License was obtained along with Ms. Evil the Treasurer,
Sunshine the Secretary, Twista The Sgt, @ Arms. Pocahontas has been
riding on and off for three years this is her first year on a bike
through the summer season she is our PRO. We have new members, Precious
who has a license also and is shopping for a bike, Heavinli who is
learning and will attend Tramas this spring with Lona and Too~Ply. The
part of being a DYME$ MC member is unity of our sisterhood.
In the future we plan ...to continue our Annual Calendar, Travel,
Community service events/runs, we hope to raise money to offer
scholarships to students for college books, and just become a bigger and
better organization as a whole.
We must show love to our families that have supported us through this we
know in the beginning it was a little time consuming, and the first MC
that helped us get started on logos and information. RRA (Road Riding
Alliance) President Spark has been great to us. Also Destiny from
Creative Imaging for the logo Cleanup, DOC for the new 2007 logo and the
DYMES TOO logo.WominX.net for our first interview. RDP for our first
interview in a magazine. C.M.B. M.C. for teaching us the beginnings of
